Trump’s campaign was trolled by TikTok users!
SO SORRY TRUMP.
President Donald Trump didn’t fill his rally arena to the more than 19,000-person capacity Saturday night (June 22), despite bragging about 1 million RSVP’s to his Tulsa, Oklahoma, return to the campaign trail. 1/3 of seats were empty.
A coordinated effort was underway on TikTok in the days leading up to Trump’s Saturday rally, encouraging people to register online for the free event and not show up. When registrations passed 800,000, Trump campaign manager Brad Parscale described it as the “Biggest data haul and rally signup of all time by 10x.”
Thousands of TikTokers recorded videos of themselves dancing the Macarena in front of their ticket confirmation to Trump’s rally to which they wouldn’t assist.
TRUMP’S ADMIN RESPONSE.
Although many think TikTokers were responsible, Trump campaign official had pushed back on the suggestion that such posts played a role in the turnout, saying, “We had legitimate 300k signups of Republicans who voted in the last four elections. Those are not [TikTok] kids. It was fear of violent protests. This is obvious with the lack of families and children at the rally. We normally have thousands of families.” A
