Jeffrey Epstein’s controversial case explained

Give me context… Jeffrey Epstein was an American millionaire and financier who sexually abused many women and underage girls. The girls were also abused by some of his contacts and friends. Epstein committed suicide in jail in August while awaiting his trial on sex trafficking charges.

Why is this case so controversial?

Because Epstein was friends or was related to many politicians and celebrities such as… Bill Clinton, Donald Trump, former Hollywood producer Harvey Weinstein  (who was accused of sexual abused by many many women), actor Kevin SpaceyQueen Elisabeth’s second son Prince Andrew, and so on.

In 2002, Trump said:

I’ve known Jeff for 15 years. Terrific guy.

But now, he is saying:

I don’t think I’ve spoken to him for 15 years, I wasn’t a fan.

What is more, an Epstein accuser later alleged that she was made to have sex with Prince Andrew when she was 17. He denies it. However, as result of the continuing controversy over the British royal’s past friendship with Epstein, Andrew has announced he

will step back from public duties for the foreseeable future.

What now?

Two federal guards – who were on duty the night that Epstein suicided have been charged. They were supposed to check on inmates every 30 minutes. Instead, they were shopping online, watching TV…
