2020 State of the Union Address for dummies. President Trump gave his annual State of the Union address. It is an annual message delivered by the President of the U.S at the beginning of the year. This has happened less than 24 hours before the end of the impeachment trial.
So what’s Trump’s message? That the United States of America is doing AMAZING. You’re welcome!
Trump said that…
- The economy: The economy is great: rising wages for low-income workers and low unemployment rates across the board.
- Trade: Our new deal with Canada and Mexico is awesome. And yes, we can say that we’re now friends with China!
- Venezuela: He said that “socialism destroys nations”. He brought in Maduro’s opposition leader, Juan Guaidó, and called him Venezuela’s “true and legitimate” president. I explain you here the conflict in Venezuela.
- Foreign policy: We’ve killed ISIS leader and top Iranian commander Qasem Soleimani. A huge victory. Also, Trump mentioned his Israeli-Palestinian peace plan (I explain you the plan here).
How did democrats respond to all this?
